Default Where do I get an auto trans indicator bulb?

I am looking for the light bulb that indicates what gear you are in that is located in the console. I am trying to at least figure out the wattage to order another.
Any one know where I could find one? Ipd and Pelican do not sell it.
Thanks
John

Is it a 740 or 940? At least it should, based on the blue tinted bulb. You might be able to get the clear version rated at 1.2 watts, part no. 989900 with eEuroparts

It is a green tint for a 940 auto trans.
Thank you.

believe that is just a mini bulb in a holder... early 940,('91?) had those... any foreign parts place should have them.

Ok:

I will check again. I felt all around but didn't feel anything. Once I took the cover off it all I could see was a pretty substantial metal housing with a thin rubber seal surrounding it. Is the bulb more near the top bottom or middle on this housing. You dont have to take that off as well do you?

Thanks

Paul

I was taking out the entire console to put a new parking brake cable in, so you may not "see" the same things I am. The wiring harness for the bulb is with the heated seat switches, it is the smallest connector, follow that up to the bottom of the cover. The bulb goes into a light pipe, that looks like aluminum but is plastic. This was either captured between the gear selector and cover or clipped in somehow.
As I am writing this, I realize it will be easier to remove the cover all together: Move the gear selector to drive, and remove the screws and you will see that the cover is split at the front to go around the gear shift. You will be able to see things better.

I can't seem to find the bulb at an any auto parts store. And the bulb is not removable from the holder, it is soldered in. I pulled them apart and ended up pulling the leads for the bulb right out of the bulb itself.

I will check the part numbers given above and go to the dealer.

Thank you all for your responses.

John

John:

Thanks. I saw those two tubes coming out of the heated seat switches. I'm going out to check today. Let me know if you find the part. I'll check Shucks in town when I get there. Good luck.

Default I have extractedd the mini bulb

So

Thanks LEV!! Just like you said it is a mini bulb in a holder with 2 wires coming from connector. I used a small offset needle nose to get it out. Pretty easy. Hope to find one soon. The pic that Racer x has posted is for the heated seat switches not trans indicator.
