Default 1993 960 wagon winter mode

The problem is that the winter mode, Mode "W" engaged. (The lamp will light up when the Winter starting mode is engaged. If the warning lamp begins to flash, this means that there is a fault in the automatic gearbox.) The warning light is on and is flashing along with the, E, S, W are flashing intermittently. The acceleration feels sluggish like it is in 2nd gear. I just had it serviced for this problem, here is the complete low down on what was was done from the mechanic notes.

-Attach machine to transmission lines. Inject cleaner. Run to temperature. Remove dirty fluid. Run clean fluid and shudder guard. Bring to temperature. Check for leaks. Road test.

-Diagnose up arrow. We found a code for the transmission gear position sensor. We replaced the switch.

the transmission fluid used: ATF Dextron III
replaced switch: Switch, Gear position - PNP 960 auto

After picking up the car from this service the problem seemed to be fixed but after coming to a complete stop while driving, the "W" mode fault light came back on and the E,S,W were flashing once again. Can anyone give me any light how to resolve this problem. I love this car and want it to preform at its best. Thank you for your time and helpful insight.

-Possible helpful notes: The previous owner drove with the engine completely overheating and had a new engine replaced with 30,000 mile engine. I don't know if this might have anything to do with but just so you have a little more info on the car.

Maybe the PNP needs adjusted to work correctly. These are adjustable and there is a procedure to accomplish this.

Interesting, can you elaborate more on how the PNP is adjusted/procedure.

It's been a really long time since I did this and do not have a manual handy. Hopefully another member can chime in here.
