1995 volvo 960
Hey I just bought my first volvo and after driving it for 135km it started misfiring and the check engine light came on after turning a corner into a parking lot and giving it some gas to make the turn. After turning off the car and starting it again the engine was running normally but the check engine light was still on. The car has 92,000km and looks like new the timing belt, water pump, brake booster where changed 3 months before I bought the car. I had it inspected buy a mechanic before buying it and they said it was good. The concerns I had where the engine making a ticking noise witch they said was from using cheap gas and not premium and a hissing noise coming from the drivers side while pressing the gas they didn't say anything about it.
Hi and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you did NOT have a Volvo shop check the car out for you. Chances are, you have a vacuum or PCV system issue with the noise. Clicking is likely nothing if it's the fuel injectors (usually a little noisy), hopefully it's not a noisy lifter (louder).

Is the ticking noise something you have all the time or only for a little while after starting up ?? If it's something happening when first starting and you have a "Fram" oil filter on it good reason to change at least the filter. For some reason Frams can be the cause of lifter ticking on start up.
If you think it is the fuel injectors you can always try a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner just for maintenance and see if it helps quiet them down. The single server bottles are smaller. The picture is a quart, it's a lot cheaper to buy it that way (or gallon) if you have a couple vehicles.
