Where is the temp semsor for my 1996 Volvo 960 located at on the engine . Im trying to fid it to replace it . My dash gauge is responding slowly and my check engine light is on I think its trowing code P0133 it tells me that code can affected my a wrong engine temp sensor not working right . I know that about a year ago it was fine and working ok . My O/2 sensor is new one of then at least , that one was changed at Volvo in Illinois in 2006 and they don't have that much mile on the car it don't get driven much . I know Im ok on that .

 

I believe, in '96 volvo went from two temp sensors to one, which is located at the t-stat housing.
The older models, the t-stat housing sensor is for the dash gauge, the other one is at the rear of the cylinder head, which is for the ECM.
