1994 960 sedan, how do I identify whether or not my car has EGR? I want to buy new fuel injectors for it and based on "fitment" data for example on FCP Euro's site, it matters whether or not it has EGR. It looks like the transition is from the 1994 to 1995 model year but I have to be certain. I bought a spare cylinder head used/refurbished over a year ago, and it mattered then whether or not it had EGR. But a professed seasoned Volvo mechanic for decades didn't even sound sure at the time I inquired about buying a head from him. At the time after I took pictures of emissions and fuel injection area and sent to him, he said it probably doesn't have EGR.

I need to be more certain that probably. How do I determine this one way or the other?

 

This is the EGR valve. See if you have one on your engine, around the head. There should also be associated piping that goes in and out of it.

 

According to Vida - in the american market the only engine for that year was a 6304 fs with egr- But I would look for all the egr parts shown on the parts page
