Well, the title says it all. There is a small segment of rubber trim that goes around the lower corner of the windshield on my 1996 960. The attached picture shows the piece for the driver's side before I reattached it. I need the one for the passenger side (it's missing).

Checked local scrap yards, and three 960s I checked were missing this piece, so it must be a common problem.

 

I can check for one tomorrow. Does the dealer not carry it?

 

No luck with buying the one piece from a dealer. There is a gasket kit for the entire windshield, but it's not clear if it even contains the needed part, and of course the price is nuts.

 

The piece is not separate but the lower part of the vertical windshield molding. It often breaks as in your case. What you may be able to find at a JY is that piece and glue it in place as there is no other way to attach it.

 

Is this PN 9447826? If your 960 is chassis number 41411 or later this is the right side windshield trim. Tasca has it for $24. Left side is 9447825. The clips are 1342004.

 

OK. Thanks. I ordered part no. 9447825. We'll see what it looks like when it arrives, but the picture in the schematic does not show the section that wraps around the lower left corner of the windshield glass. I'll report back.
