Default Volvo turbo

1st post here, really hope you can help!

I have an '84 Volvo 760GLE turbo and I have to replace the turbo. I got a used turbo and they're pretty close, but not quite. Its liquid cooled while the orig. one was air cooled. Can I cool this w/ trans fluid? If so, should the fluid flow from trans cooler to turbo to transmission? If not, how do I connect the cooling lines from to the turbo to the radiator? The radiator does not have any small lines that I can tap into.

REALLY hope you all can help, b/c if not, a 'new' turbo is $650. OUCH! Thanks in advance.

You would have to buy all the New hoses for the Water cooled setup.

Or go to the Junk yard and get them from a car there.

Can I tap into the radiator and run coolant into the turbo this way?

You could but would be better off buying the hose from the coolant bottle to the radiator that has the little hose that goes to the turbo.
