My son ran it hot and the mechanic says it is cracked?? He says he knows a shop that might be able to fix it?? I have never heard of welding and aluminum head??/ Any one have advice on it?/ I have posted looking for a good replacement.

First of all, how does he know its cracked without pulling it? These tend to warp before they crack. I BAKED mine and I mean BAKED it! It was so hot it had steam coming out everywhere. Yet, when the head was pulled it was fine, no piston damage, no burnt valves, just a warped head.

As to answer your question, yes, it can be welded.

 

Sometimes when they get that hot the best thing you can do is replace the engine.

 

he has pulled it and that was he diagnosis>> Replacing the head should be easier than the motor the bottom end is tight. Any know where t o get god replacement
