What bolt on mods can you suggest? Newbie to Volvo. It's my daily drive to work. I drive about 100 miles a day.

depends what you are after...

want 20 quick HP? Find an ECU from an 850R

want better handling - install the IPD heavy duty swar bars (note you need to lower the front subframe for the install) - also use their HD end links.

want better styling - upgrade to a nice set of 16 or 17 inch wheels- such as those from the S70/C70s

look around for R styling bits

better headlights? Install e-code lenses

you can certainly do more HP upgrades if you are willing to drop $1000 - bigger turbo ie 16T/18T, with ECU tune, downpipe to start will get you 300 HP.

If you need new shocks consider Bilstein HDs, lowering springs etc but I found new Boges with the IPD bars just right.

Last of all go for a radio upgrade. Double DINs will fit or if you are on a budget, swap in a CD player/changer model from a C70 (make sure you get the security code and specify gray or black faced to match your interior.

I have the suspension done, dropped springs with KYB adjustable shocks. I'm thinking the previous owner did some mods. It has the inter cooler blue hoes on it. When i put it in Sport mode button by the shiftier. It run it's azz off. Head lights, what's up with the e-code lenses. How do you get it to hear the turbo noise better. I've seen on you tube where there are some that rev there engines and the exhaust pops loud..

e-codes are the euro spec'd lenses that snap on the standard 850 headlight buckets. they have a different cut to have a more pronounced low beam that projects more light outward with a sharper "Z beam" type cut and can be married up to an H1 bulb. Google around for more info.

In terms of the turbo noise, are you looking for the turbo whine and blow off valve woosh or the deeper frump from the exhaust. For most turbo motors you can either do a cat-back exhaust with a larger pipe and more open exhaust or you can replace the downpipe betwen the turbo and cat with a larger pipe. A 3" cat back will give you more sound, the downpipe will help scavenge the exhaust gas out of the turbo giving better throttle response and more power - particularly if you have an ECU tune and have upgraded the turbo to a larger size like an 18T. If you do the tune and larger turbo, don't forget to upgrade the injectors.

Final thought - if you've already done shocks and springs but are running factory sway bars, consider adding the IPD bars. They will actually improve handling more than the springs/shocks upgrade
