Yes. Not a bad upgrade. Our housings do not create that much glare. Just google "VVME Ebay Store" and get the lowest priced one. Make sure to follow directions and get the 9006 ones. 4300k bulbs would do, as they produce the most useable light

What are you really looking for?

Perhaps you should start at a Stage Zero (0) tune up.

1. Yes people have used HID's in their 850's. Many many people do currently.

2. If you order from SharpHID.com you'll get a great product, great price and great customer service.

3. I'd suggest purchasing a set of PROJECTOR headlights for your 850 and yes they are made. Check EBAY and EuroSportTuning out for them... Why projectors? Because stockers will produce more glare and are not made for HID use the projectors will work flawlessly and look great.

4. What do you want to do to your ride? Cosmetics, Suspension performance, Engine performance? Also what is your budget like?

I do agree on the projectors, however they are not needed. If you get the projectors make sure to get the H1 Bulb. The projectors are made for HID (Although they say do not use HID), and they allow a nice sharp cutoff with a small blue hue. The stock headlights do have glare, however they are not as bad as some other cars, such as Neons.

As for SharpHID, they are a good choice. They offer a lifetime warranty, but VVME ones are about half that price. Choose what you want. Go on ebay and such and search. HID Planet is a good place to research them too. They ahve a lot of good references.

Search for Stage 0 here. There is a good write up. But basically you want to cover the basics. Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, filters etc. If you replace the plugs do yourself a favor and get Volvo plugs. They aren't cheap but there have been so many people having issues with anything other than the OEM. After stage 0 you can start by replacing vacuum lines, replacing intercooler hoses with silicone ones. But again search on this forum. Many many talented and smart people here that now their Swedish car.

Good luck. Remember Form follow function. Make sure it is running well or it will just look pretty in your driveway.
