Question 850 Turbo power loss and guages stop

I am looking at a 1995 850 Turbo, Auto trans. The car has somewhere around 150k + on it. The one real issue is that randomly the gauges quit working and then the car acts like its stuck in second and wont go above 30mph. Anyone have any suggestions as to what this could be, like an easy fix or am I looking at something expensive? and should just go else were.

Sounds like a 10 cent problem that will be very difficult to find. There are not any expensive electronic components on an 850 Turbo. The problem is that nobody can diagnose an intermittent electric problem.

Personally I actually enjoy working on those, but most people hate it. So that would be a good car for me and I'd eventually find it. But most people are not like that.

Yeah just makes me a little bit worried because I'm looking to daily it and if it's going to be a huge problem I will look for another one is all. It's not that I'm not capable or am not mechanically inclined, I just am not looking for a project but rather a reliable daily that's fine to drive.
