For sure you picked up a sweet deal. I'm in the same boat as you. I picked up a '95 850 turbo wagon in April for $1700. I've had to put some maintenance dollars into it already, thus the upfront good deal. New PCV, oil cooler lines, tune-up kit, synthetic oil change, IPD's phenolic intake spacer, new ignition switch, front brake lines, 4 new door speakers, and lastly a fresh set of tires w/ alignment. I am close to the finish line for stage 0, then onto the parts that make it go faster. Good luck with your project and keep everyone posted.

Now you all have me wanting to sell the Heep so I can use the cash on the Volvo!

Worked on the R for a few hours today. Pulled the dash apart so I could see what was up with the rattling gauge cluster. To no surprise the attachment points are broke clean off. The tech that worked on this car needs to be fired, besides the attachment points for the cluster he broke the vent duct on the side of the dash and ripped out one of screws that hold the dash pad down . What Volvo tech doesnt know how to take apart an 850 dash? Guess I should be happy the odom works.

Pics of carnage...

Opened up the glove box to fix the rattle-rattle door. Had to tighten the hinge screws a tad.

For reference this was the problem with the back door. The rod came off and the lock actuator sticks. I rigged up a new rod using high strength unobtainium (aka: coat hanger) to see if it would work. It worked pretty well but will be replaced once the s70 setup gets here. The actuator sticks so I will source a replacement for that as well.
