94-850 na Idles for a few seconds- croaks
HMM still haves me a little baffled I wish I was close to see the car and perform tests on it myself.
Can you gain access to a fuel pressure guage?

Still no fuel pressure gauge, yesterday I coiuldn't get access to this site so I got to another forum and they seem to think the IACV may still be bad? Maybe? I 'completed' my headliner repair yesterday and have to detail my interior and do some small stuff to the interior, but my project Volvo is coming nicely. I just have to get this 'idling issue' resolved...
Thanks again guys!
I'll update this to remedy or my pursuit of my idling issue...

I would re-check the following items:
- Throttle switch
- Throttle position sensor
- Coolant temp sensor
- MAF, even though you have already tested it
- Camshaft Position sensor
- Disconnect the negative battery cable, wait 15 minutes, pull out the ECU, spray contact cleaner onto the pins on the ECU & its receptacle, make the ECU re-learn idle by starting the engine with as little electrical power as possible (do not step on the brakes, as the brake lights will consume some power) and let the engine idle for 10 minutes.

In the meantime I pulled the fuel pump too...but when I hook power to it...it seems to run just fine...is there some way to tell?
Tech...thanks! You are a very patient person and that is good in dealing with us MORONS...LOL
Seriously... Thank You
So right now I am stuck between the IACV and the fuel pump, I think I'll just get the IACV and try it...if it works YIPPIE, if not then I go for the fuel pump...but when I pulled the plugs they were wet...

I have seen some of the fuel pumps not work in the car but then when bench tested they work fine.
You can get the motor for the assembly pretty cheap and install it in your housing.
The only real way to tell would be to find a fuel pressure guage and leave it connected and watch it.

Where do you get the motor? Just in case, I think tomorrow I will get the IACV and hopefully that resolves my issue, if not I'll go for the pump...
This one is for 1996 non-turbo and is kind of steep. I could not find the motor alone. Other sensors seemed not too bad, such as throttle position sensor/coolant temp sensor. TPS, an aftermarket version was mere $28 or so.

Well today I found a local bone yard that had a 96 850 turbo, so I took the fuel pump...put it in and it started right away reved up to 2k then stalled out, hasn't started since? Any Ideas??? I still haven't replaced the Idle Air Control Valve, but that is next...
Thanks again
This is the edit part...
I was thinking that its starting and running may have had more to do with an ECU 'learning' idle' again rather than the influence of the new pump. I removed the fuel pump last night...went to the bone yard this Morning and put the new one in. After I installed it I reconnected the battery, that is when it fired right back up...maybe nothing at all to do with the fuel pump... Hmmm this may be a clue for someone...but it is beyond me!
Thanks again

Another update...this time it starts every time, when I got to thinking about what happened, I wondered if my drive being on a slope could have any influence, so I put more gas in it....starts every time, but just for a few seconds then croaks...so I am back to the idle air control...I do believe that is my problem...good ignition and good starts just no idle at all and seems to choke out within a few seconds if I dont' give it gas...then I do have to nurse it to keep it going...
This car will run soon...thanks everyone!
