94-850T (US) ABS and TRACS Codes
I'm bringing a (US) 1994 850 Turbo back to life.. have finally got it registered and on the road, and am trying to troubleshoot the ABS and TRACS system. The dash lights come on as they should at start-up and then go out. I understand that the system goes through another self-test at 25+mph and that's when both lights pop on and stay on for the duration of the drive. I've retrieved the following error codes from the OBD-I port, in this order:
213: Left Rear Signal Absent when moving off
141: Faulty Pedal Sensor, short to ground or voltage
142: Faulty Brake Light Switch; Open or Short circuit
214: Right Rear Signal Absent when moving off
With this many codes, I'm thinking that there's a loose or corroded wiring harness connector someplace.. or maybe a problem with one of the relays? The Brake Light switch seems to work fine.
Any ideas of where to start? Thanks!

RE: 94-850T (US) ABS and TRACS Codes
Yes, codes were cleared and then read after the warning lights came on after a short drive... I have NOT checked any of the wiring harnesses/connectors around the ABS unit and will pull and clean them (and the switches) first to see if that makes a difference... however, I know that I may be looking at pulling apart the ABS unit to see if any internal solder connections are faulty.

RE: 94-850T (US) ABS and TRACS Codes
The older units are not as prone to solder joint failures. I have only had one ABS/Tracs problem on my 1994 model and it was the rear wheel sensor filled with crud out of my rotor. The reluctance (sensor) rings are magnetic and they attract the metal out of the worn rotors. The codes lead me to the problem. I just blasted it with brake cleaner and it was problem solved.

RE: 94-850T (US) ABS and TRACS Codes
Update... After clearing the codes (battery terminal off for one night) The light popped on consistently at each ride over 25mph. Since then, just for grins, I pulled and inspected all the fuses labeled ABS (there's several of them). Fuses were OK but since then, for the next 6 or 8 rides/start-cycles, the dash light has only come on one time. I think your dirty sensor idea has a lot of merit and next warm day I'll pull the wheels and blast it with cleaner!
