96 850 T5 - OBD2 won't connect??
Recently picked up my 2nd 850 T5 Wagon. I had a 94 like 6 years ago, only for a short while. I was happy to pick up this 96 since it had the OBD2 for troubleshooting. But of course, within the 1st week I got a CEL..
Issue is, I tried 3 different scanners and none of them will connect to the ECU itself to retrieve or clear the code. And I need to get it inspected ASAP. I tried searching, and most said to check the fuse for OBD & Dome Lights. That fuse is fine & everything else works fine as well. I tried a bluetooth/phone app that has worked on at least 5 or 6 other cars I tried (never DIDN'T work til now) and that won't read. I tried a generic OBD2 program a friend had on his laptop with my OBD-USB cable, no dice. I downloaded VOL-FCR and everything but the ECU connects. I was even able to reset the service light with that, which only makes this more confusing.. I was able to acces trans & other computers, but not the main ECU.. Both my cable & the Bluetooth OBD2 unit illuminate when connected, but will not read the ECU!
Guide me!
