96' 850 Won't Start !!!
Yesterday, I drove home from work for my lunch break. When I left the office the car started fine. I got home, ate, and got back in the car, and it wouldn't start. The engine is turning over (reh,eh,eh,eh,eh,eh - you know what sound I am talking about) but it won't catch. It has gas, the full electric system comes on, and if you turn the key to the on position (just before ignition) you can hear the fuel pump do its thing. I had someone tell me that if you turn the key a few times and let the fuel pump prime the line a few time before starting, it should start. Well, I have tried that and it still won't work. I can do certain tasks under the hood (i.e. sparks and cables, air filter, and so on), but I don't feel comfortable doing anything major. I will need to tow it to the shop (at least $50-$100) if I can't get it started so I want to eliminate anything easy. Any help would be appreciated.

Did the car stall or did you turn it off normally? I would check for spark next just like RedTurbo said. Pull out a plug put the wire back on it, have somebody turn the car over and see if the spark plug is sparking. Pull the coil wire off first. Are you getting fuel to the fuel rail? That would be the next thing to check, if you are getting spark.
