Default AC & Recirculation Air Lights Flashing

Hello,

I am new to this and need some help here.
I have a 1996 850 GLT Wagon with 101,000 miles on it. The LED next to the AC selector and the LED next to the Recirculating/Fresh Air selector flash 18 times in unison after starting the the car. What does that mean? It happened for the first time this morning.

Thanks,
Mike

It means there is a fault in the climate system.

You need to have the codes pulled from it to see what is wrong.

Tech,
How do you pull these codes? Mine just started flashing too.
Thanks

You will need an OBDII scanner that reads the climate module.

OK, what kind of trouble do these faults lead to? As of right now, other than the blinking, there are no problems. The heat, the defrost, all that works great.

Is this usually a big deal?

It could be as simple as a motor out of adjustment. If everything is working you should be fine for now.
