Default Another weird running issue

Okay so i got the hose that exploded replaced and installed today. I went to start the car and it started right away, then the idle dropped and the car died. Started it again and the same thing happened. I took it for a quick drive and the idle issue resolved itself.

Also, since i put the new intercooler hose on, the blowoff sounds different. It used to have a flutter sound when it blew off, now its just a "whoosh" sound. It seems to boost better though. And im still blowing smoke out the tailpipe...it isnt coolant and it doesnt smell like burnt oil though.

Refresh my memory - was it an intercooler hose that had a hole? And which hose did you replace? I'll guess the new hose is 'plugging a hole' that caused the sound difference.

What color is the smoke? And is it barely visible or is it like a curtain you can't see through?

The hose I replaced is the flexible one between the hard pipe off the turbo and the hard pipe that goes to the intercooler inlet at the bottom. The smoke isnt always there, and it varies. Sometimes i can barely see it, sometimes it's coming out pretty thick. It's been doing that since i got the car. I'm wondering if its the turbo or the cat going bad. I have an exhaust leak at the time, so its hard to determine...

It can't be the cat, 'cause it doesn't remove smoke. PCV maybe?

Did the smoke appear after the PCV job, or was it always there? Did it get better or worse?

It's always been there, and I honestly dfont know if it got better or worse, because I did the PCV system within a couple weeks of getting the car.
