Default Black plastic foot rest "pad" keeps poping off

I purchased that little black plastic foot rest "pad" that on to the left of the break pedal. It is supposed to install into 2 holes. It doesn't stay; keeps popping off. Is there a trick? I've tried pushing it in then sliding it down, but it doesn't stay.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

There is suppsed to be a tab that locks into the hole to hold it in.

I see a little tab, but I can't figure out how to get it into the hole. Is there some trick?

The holes look like this:

But the tab is to the bottom of the thing that goes in the bottom hole. Unless you have to bend the piece to get it in....

Once you put the pad in did you slide it up? If not then slide it up and it should lock in the hole that you originally put the round tab into.

It looks like the round tabs sticking out of the bottom of the pad is the size of the large hole, so when I slide it up it doesn't appear to move much in that direction. I'll still give it a try. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them to show what I'm talking about.

Thanks

I did buy a new one. But I'm having trouble installing it... Someone suggested I slide it up. Any other advise on getting it to stay in place?

Thanks.

Probably just have to give it a good upwards shove to get it to 'lock' into place - you may even need to tap it with a hammer if its real tight. Just make sure that both 'fingers' are seated through the holes before you shove or it won't fit properly.
