Default Blower Motor resistor bypass?

Either my blower or resistor is gone. My question is can I rip apart my passenger dash to get to the blower and resistor and pull the resistor, then bypass it with a wire to test the blower before having to pull the blower out?

or do I have to pull the blower out and test it on the bench?

Id like to see if the blower would work as we have a storm coming and I have to work, but I cant buy the resistor till next week.

Thanks in advance.

Just pull the underbelly on the passenger side off. Then remove the knee bolster and you have access to both. You can test from there. I was able to remove my resistor with only these items out. I have not pulled the fan but my guess is the glove box would need to come out to do that.

Thanks, but can I do the wire trick without damaging anything? or for that matter, can I run it with the wire crossed over for a day or two till I get the new resistor?

I dont see why not. The resistor regulates ground, a straight connection would be full blast.

Found the problem, it was power connection to the blower. It has a bad connection and if you apply pressure to the connection, you get power. Just goin to replace the blower.

Thanks for the help.
