So I was in a hurry and had Pep Boys put on the new front brake rotors, pads and hoses -- I had already done the rears. When I picked up the car, the brake indicator light on the instrument cluster was on. They couldn't figure it out, and I was in too much of a hurry to wait until they did.

The brake fluid is full, the brakes feel firm, I checked to make sure that nothing was leaking. What else could the light be telling me to check?

Is it just the BRAKE light or also the ABS light?

 

Just the "BRAKE" light

 

I know that you probably checked this -- sometimes it is possible to overlook the obvious -- Could it be a bad switch for the parking brake lever?

 

Is the Plug plugged into the brake fluid bottle cap?

 

Maybe it would be easier to just ask what sensors drive this light? Is it just the fluid level sensor? Is there a brake fluid pressure sensor that in the system that is attached to the light? Any wear sensors on the wheels? If I could find out what drives the light, it would allow me to find the problem thru the process of eliminatination.

I believe it has: Fluid level,Fluid pressure and the E-brake.
If you want try looking at this wiring diagram and see if you can find out for sure.
