A/C not blowing cold
ok, I'm back with the next issue I'm taking on. The A/C in my '97 850 GLT isn't blowing cold at all. it's blowing a little bit colder than the air outside (in baltimore) which is about 78 degrees right now. a few shops a while back said that it was probably the A/C compressor, I think I'm going to do one of the leak tests with the dye and such. If anybody else has any good ideas about how to test it please let me know. -Sam
oh, and another factoid that is most likely related. when I turn the A/C on with the controls I don't hear a compressor click on, nor does the RPM change (in my eclipse the RPM's jump a tiny bit, I'm not sure if volvo's do that or not)
Just unplug the Low pressure switch in the pipe by the firewall and test both wires for power.
If you have no power at either one something inside is not working.
If you have Power outside then jump the 2 wires if the compressor kicks on then you are low on freon.
