Default Cleaned Egr, p0400 went away but now I have p1418. Also I found a large broken hose !

Hello, so I've had the 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo for about 5 days.
I had a p0400 code so got stuck in and cleaned out the egr and replaced a couple of easy to reach vacuum hoses. This got rid of the smelly Fumes coming into the car as well.

1. Firstly I now have a p1418 code, unfortunately there's not a whole lot of info. on this code for our cars.
I think it means "Secondary Air Injection System Relay A Control Circuit High".
I have no idea what this means of where to look. Please point me in the right direction.

2. I found a large hose that is plasticy not rubbery that runs from the back bottom of the engine bay where the clean air goes in, up alongside the engine and under the intake manifold.
It has broken in 2 and the oil coming from the insulation sleeve, I presume from this hose. There is also another hose running alongside this.
The oil is running down the hose and the engine heat is causing it to smoke/burn. What is it? Where does it go? and where can I order it? and how do I replace it?

Thanks in advance for your expertise guys

Also when poking around the vacuum hoses, there didn't seem to be any vacuum. The vacuum hose that goes to fresh air would not suck up/slurp seafoam.

That would be the breather hose from the PCV seperator to the PTC..

You can get the whole kit here..

That hard plastic hose always breaks. I would recommend replacing it with a heavy rubber fuel line. I bought a 2' section of 1/2" hose that worked perfectly.

Thanks thymighty.
Im thinking i may just get the whole pcv kit and have peace of mind.

Any input on the p1418 code? Im flumoxed. I cleaned it when i cleaned the egr, could i have damaged it? Maybe its not used to actual fluctuations of gas flowing over it as the egr was previously clogged?
Please help as im hoping to drive out to the rockies next month and want the car to be running with no issues.
Thanks

After further research,I think I might just use the rubber hose and place a catch can in the line.

No more input on the P1418 code?

Any thoughts on the lack of vacuum?

There has to be vacuum pressure if the engine is running. If not, you have a massive leak upstream somewhere. Which vacuum line were you looking at?

Have you tried clearing the EGR code and seeing if it returns? I'll have to look tomorrow at the EGR function in my documents. Maybe your EGR valve is stuck open, and so the ECU is reading exhaust temp gas at the sensor, even though it is not commanding the EGR valve to open. Or maybe the sensor is just bad.

The hose that vents to fresh air.
I did try clearing but it comes back.
I may have the meaning of p1418 wrong. Someone mentioned its something to do with the cooling fan? Which doesnt make much sense since its pretty cold here.

Did a little more research and this is from Volvo so "final answer"

OBDI code 413 is the same as OBDII "P" code P1416,P1417 and P1418. It is a EGR temperature sensor signal absent or faulty.

But even with the cold weather it's not uncommon for the fan to come on at times. Usually if it's sitting still and just idling for a prolonged period or if the defroster is turned on as that kicks in the AC compressor and that in turn over rides the temperature sensor and should make the fan come on.
