Default Engine Belly pan removal 93 850

I have looked long enough and not found this answer.
My 93 has a black plastic belly pan under the motor that I will need to remove to do an oil change.
It has no bolts but a few different type of plug type or flat head fasteners that hold it in place. Before I pry these things out of there and break one or more I thought to ask how they come out?
Checked several posts and searched a long time but did not find an answer.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure thats 'under the motor'? There is a black plastic 'AIR GUIDE' that covers the radiator but I have never seen something that covers the actual oil plan other than IPD's skid plate.

Yes I put it up on the ramps and slid under the car. I can't even see the oil pan or filter from looking straight up. I can't see the filter at all and can only see the pan from behind, so I would be looking up at the exhaust.
There was one post showing a picture but it was a newer model and that one said to remove the 12mm bolts. Mine are not bolts, not even rounded off bolts. They are like the plastic plugs that hold some interior body panels on but I swear they are metal.

I heard someone mention a oem skid plate a couple years ago. I wonder if this is what it is.

Here's a blurry image of my OEM skidplate. It does allow plenty of access to the filter for changing, but I still take it off since it's only held on by two nuts and the oil splashes on it while draining.

where and when did you get your car? volvo doesnt make this. may be the previous owner did that. l have never seen this on a volvo. why dont you just unscrew both bolts in the front and see if it comes off?

Bought the car last year from a Volvo tech in California. It's not the only odd Volvo accessory he installed on the car before I bought it, but he also came from England so I'm guessing he's able to find more stuff than I can. I'm not surprised you've never seen one, I've only seen one other besides mine. In fact, if I had not seen it listed in a Volvo catalog I would've guessed someone made it. P/N is 9451954

Here's an image I found online. Bottom tabs slide on top of the subframe, and it bolts on up front.

Now that is a sort of skid plate. More like a skid rack. No good on sharp pointy rocks but who takes their V bush wacking?

This is my belly pan:

I will not call it a skid plate because it is plastic and would probably be worse that the previous posters rack. The cracks and missing bits are proof it is just a bit of protection but nothing serious.

I have never seen one like that. That is rare.
