Evaporator changed
Hi, tech, how are you doing?, I hope good, I want to let you and EVERYBODY here know that I changed the evaporator in my station wagon following your instructions, and I really can tell you something: those instructions are perfect, I changed it, my A/C is freezing now, thanks, they were charging me $ 1200.00, parts and labor, 10 hours, that means 2 working days, I got an evaporator in perfect shape from a wrecked 850 for $ 40.00 and did all this in the weekend, my wife helped me, without your help I wouldn't even try anything so complex like that, you do an excellent job in this forum, thanks again, Carlos.
I forgot to say that after the replacement you'll have to take your car to the dealer or a volvo shop to reset the SRS, I did it today, cost: $37.50, in a Volvo shop, Houston, TX, it took them 10 minutes to do it, the dealers are wayyyy much more $$$$$$
Regarding the 1996-1998 model years, the "Service" light and "SRS" light are NOT ODB-II. Most likely, managed by a proprietary Volvo computer. You can purchase your own "Service" and "SRS" reset tool.
