Got my AC filled today!
This is the first time my car has had refrigerant in it for as long as I can remember, way before I ever started driving it. I never knew a car could have such cold AC! Now my Volvo's AC is noticeably colder than my parents' new Honda CRV and my friends' 2008 F250 and 2009 F150! It's very very impressive!
Today was a little above 90 degrees, and after I had it fixed, I was shivering in my car after less than five minutes! The recirculation wasn't even on!
Just thought I'd share.

Well, I installed my cabin filter retainer and filter today, and it was a cinch!
The most tedious part was vacuuming and wiping out the crud which had accumulated over the years around where the housing sets in. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how easy it is to inspect the blower motor impeller while doing so. Thankfully, my fan had absolutely no damage or debris whatsoever, and spins very freely and quietly.
The only unexpected issue was that the Bosch filter I had ordered from FCP was actually slightly too big. It was cheap and had cardboard sides with felt on them rather than the plastic sides. With the filter seated into the retainer the flexible filter sides bowed inward, leaving large gaps at either end because the filter was a bit too tall. So, I trimmed the corners and peeled off some of the felt off the sides, leaving the cardboard, and now it fits perfectly! Not hard at all, but I just thought I would throw that out there as an FYI for anyone buying the filter from FCP.
