Nitrogen Filled Tires
So I just saw a commercial for Nitrogen filled tires and I also GOOGLED it and came up with this site, http://www.getnitrogen.org/
I looked for dealers near me and there aren't any truly close by. Has anyone done this with their tires? Notice anything good from it?
Thanks

Bell tyre does that service for free if you purchase tyres from them. Google Bell tyre for a local dealer.

I should add that it is an inert gas that slows oxidation and supposedly the tyre will not degrade as rapidly. If that is an issue to you then so be it but to pay for nitrogen to fill your tyres is perhaps akin to tossing your money away. You will not find Indy/Champ cars using it.

It's not that big of a deal for me I was just wondering. I'm not driving 30 miles plus to get my tires filled with Nitrogen.
I was able to put around 20 to 30 thousand miles on my P4 4 Seasons with regular old air and since I am getting four brand new tires I was thinking of trying something different to see if I could get some slightly better mileage out of them.

http://www.buywheelstoday.com/ cheap prices and free nitro inflation.
"Benefits of Nitrogen Inflation:
1.Nitrogen inflated tires maintain proper pressure longer: Normal compressed air migrates through the sidewall of a tire at the rate of approximately 2 psi per month. Nitrogen molecules are much larger than oxygen molecules, which means that pure nitrogen migrates through a sidewall at a slower rate than compressed air. Proper tire pressure results in longer wearing tires and improved gas mileage. 2.Pure nitrogen does not contain moisture: Compressed air contains oxygen and therefore water vapor. The moisture causes higher tire temperatures, variances in pressure, and oxidation of the tire, wheel and valve stems. Oxidation is corrosion, which causes leaks around the valve stems and tire beads. Oxidation also leads to tire fatigue, leading to increased tire wear. Due to the lack of moisture, nitrogen inflated tires do not oxidize and run cooler, leading to longer tire life."

Todays tyre compounds are such that tyre degradation is minimal. What small affect nitrogen has on tyres is negligible and indeed, when the tyre will need 'air' I highly suspect no-one will drive out of their way to have them 'topped' off with nitrogen. It is truly a gimmick that might sell tyres at the store but in reality does little to change much about a tyre and it's life expectancy. By the way.............I have an acquaintance who is selling bridges for those who are looking for the next best deal.............

But when they fill your tires with nitrogen you get the nice green valve stem caps. There is a place here, either Tire Discounters or Discount Tires, that fill your tires with nitrogen and give you green caps. I have them on my white car. Wonder if that's why that car gets better gas mileage than the other two? When the tires are low on pressure, it does not hurt to just add air to increase the pressure. So I don't have to go there every time I need to put a little air in my tires. But those green caps sure are special.
Well,
Costco uses nitro. When you buy your tires there, they fill them with nitro. You can go by anytime and they will check pressure and top-off for free, as its all included as part of the purchase. Also, they require you have them rotate the tires every 7,000 miles or so. At that point, they rotate (again, for free---included in your purchase price), and inflate to proper levels with nitro.
They do a good job with their tire service.
