My 96 850R occasionally makes a grinding noise under hard acceleration. The noise seems to emanate from the back of the engine. Anybody else had a similar problem and any thoughts on what might be causing it?

The baffles in my exhaust went last month, I'm putting a new exhaust on next weekend, but I can't see that the 2 are likely to be linked.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 

Check the upper torque mount and the one for the upper mount on the firewall.
