Default heater core hose leak/how to remove accelerator

I have a 96 volvo 850 and I've been doing work on the heater core to replace it. After I had it plugged back in and started filling up with coolant there was a leak at the hose coupler at the firewall. I've begun trying to remove it although the accelerator is in the way and I can't figure out how to remove it. I've confirmed the coupler is broken and that's why it's leaking but I need a way to get the new one in without breaking it. Any suggestions or instructions on how to remove the accelerator enough to get the coupler out would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Its a pin at the pivot point. It just pushes out to the left.
