Default how do i test the blower resistor?

i have a non ECC blower resistor that im trying to verify is still good. can anybody tell me how to bench test it? its a 94 850 if that matters.

If it's the MCC style you can simply look at it and see the cracks in it.

in the green outer shell or in the white core? the green has cracks but the white looks solid.

There are four pins on your resistor, labeled 1 - 4. Pin 4 is the common.

Measure the resistance between pins 1 & 4, and then 2 & 4, and 3, & 4. I don't have the absolute resistances but the resistance should decrease as you go between pins 1, 2, and 3.

If you read an open circuit on any or all of the pins the resistor is bad. There is a thermal fuse in the common line that can be replaced but you should use silver solder and it takes a lot of heat.

cant you just turn the fan on full blast and then turn it down and see if it still blows the same?
