I have to confess over $1300. from fixing the damage from the deer to tires and a tune up. All in all it's probably closer to $1900 with gas and other things. but receipts add up to 1380 in parts.
but you really can't put a price on happiness right

This thread got me curious on what I've spent on the car in the year I've owned it.
Bought the car a Year ago (12/17/09) for 4k.
In that year, I've spent approx. $4820 on the car. That's a lot more then I thought I have. But for everything I've done I think I come out ahead.
Here's a quick/rough list of what I've done....
I know I'm missing a few things.
R manifold $ 200
White injectors $70
Donor car for the Manual swap $800
Misc swap Parts $200ish
-Labor $365
iPd Springs/shocks $200
-Labor $50
DP $100
-Labor $40
Timing belt kit W/Water Pump $150
Stage III Tune $325
N/A TB Plate $20
Boost gauge $30
BBK (Calipers) $500
Blocking plate $15
BOV W/ Samco hose $175
Short shift kit/intake pipe $256.00
-Install $40
N/A TB hose $50

I needed a back up car in June and bought this for $ 875, knowing that it needed many things. My thinking was -- back-up car (i.e. not a daily driver) I would rather do things myself than pay for it in the upfront purchase price. This Volvo has all options that were available (according to Volvo paperwork). Most options did not work though. Previous owner was that kind of person that you feel had 2 left hands -- everything that could be touched (and some) was broken / missing.
In the last 6 month I have spent about $ 1,500. I gave this Volvo a 12-month "renovate" timeframe and I think I will be spending another $ 1,500 in the next 6 months, but It will be brought up to shape. I hope though that this does not end up like my Mercedes where new projects (repairs) popped up at a speed greater that I could finish.
