Default IAC Hose Collapse

Hey all,

I bought a new genuine Volvo IAC outlet hose a few months ago from the dealership due to an aging one that failed, and I noticed that it collapsed during idle, like a large dimple in the hose. I never really thought it to be a problem, but just wondering if anybody else has this? A picture is attached to show the problem... The dimple is usually only apparent during idle, because the hose inflates as the throttle is opened

You guys think it's a manufacturer defect? The hose seems pretty thin...

And yes I have cleaned it very thoroughly, no buildup anywhere inside the IAC

Have you pulled the vacuum tree from the intake and made sure there is no blockage or build up there? You may want to get one from a junk yard.

Thanks everyone,

Took the hose back to the dealership to replace it with a new one. Fixed the problem!

It's collapsing from VACUUM, boost would inflate the hose.

LOL! Yea my bad. For some reason I was thinking about an inlet hose. But in any case it still shouldn't collapse.
