Well it reads 1 but I guess it starts at 1, reads that with nothing touching terminals

 

I can understand that going bad, but does that explain why it would start earlier well gas pedal was pushed to floor well it cranked? It wouldn't run below 3k rpms and stall out, do they gradually go bad? Giving less voltage or ohms until it just dies?
