I'm thinking about putting new springs on my 95 850 Turbo Wagon. I'm assuming they have never been replaced in the life of the car. I know that most guys want to lower the height of their car for performance and handling, but is it possible to actually raise the height of the car? Which springs in particular would be able to do that?

 

Hmm, I think you can just get spacers for your old springs? If not, coilovers?

 

You want to raise the height of the car from the stock height? I highly doubt your going to find aftermarket springs for the 850 model that are going to raise the car. Maybe see if you can get some XC springs in there or something?

 

Coilovers may work, but I doubt they would go higher than the stock, mostly because they're designed for people to completely drop their cars. And that route would cost you about 1,700 dollars.

 

Do the original springs settle down in height over time? Replacing with regular stock springs may raise the height slightly just because they are'nt worn in? In any case, when and if I get new springs I'll measure the height before and after. I have heard stories of guys who bought lowering springs to replace their old worn out ones and actually ended up raising the car.

 

They do settle over time, if you put new stock springs back on, then chances are your car will be slightly higher, but they will settle also and your car will probably drop again.
