Default New guy with a 850 problem...

Hey guys, my name is Eirik and I have a 1995 Volvo 850 sedan turbo. I am currently having some problems with this car. If anyone could help out I would really appreciate it.

So, the alternator went out in the car and I replaced it a couple weeks ago. I drove it for a few days and parked it. Yesterday I went to start it and the battery was too dead to turn it over so I jump started it. It started right away and ran great. I then shut it off and tried to start it and nothing..Got the battery tested and it was bad. I went and swapped the battery out with a new one and the car started right up. When I put the car in reverse the car bogged then died. It started back up after a few turns of the key and drove back home. I turn the car off and start it back up and it acted normal so I went inside for a while. Today I get in it and start it up it runs fine and I put it in reverse and it bogs down and dies again, but this time it acted like the battery was disconnected. I checked terminals and there is no corrosion and they are tight. Battery is showing good voltage but its like its not making it to any part of the car at all....

Any ideas?

Sounds like a new one. Maybe your transmission ecu is going bad but I really don't know. Maybe the two are not related. Is the car starting up fine now?

Sounds like some kind of short. Search out electrical problems.

Short. Bad connection to a ground or something like that. Old car.
