Odometer Broken?
I don't know what to do I do not want to fix this myself, the job seems to detailed for me. Does anyone know what a Dealership will charge me to fix. I live in New Hampshire if that makes a difference. Thank you
Jason

I don't know how much the dealer charges, but i'm sure they will over charge you badly for it...
It can't be that hard to fix. Compared to some of the other repairs, it is simple. Isn't it just a matter of undoing a couple screws to get the cluster out and then unscrewing the screws on the cluster and taking the cluster apart and replacing a gear?
Even a non-mechanically inclined person should be able to do this in 2 hrs max.

Ugh, my the local dealer here told me it would be $800 because they had to replace the entire instrument cluster. I had to keep myself from laughing.
Two independent shops quoted me $200 and $300.

Maybe it is standard Volvo procedure to change the whole instrument cluster.

$25 + shipping for new odo gear.
All you need: Torx tools & attention to detail. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable but make sure you have the code for radio before undoing the battery. Also, the engine will have to re-learn idle speed.
Good day & keep warm,
