Odometer Question
I guess my odometer has not been working for about 30,000 miles. When I fix that, will the mileage correct itself of will it stay at where it is at? Should I just get the correct mileage from the computer and change the mileage on the odometer myself? This is a 94, so I believe I can get the mileage with out using a scan tool, am I correct?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
The odometer reading will just advance from where it was when it broke, it doesn't reset itself. You can pull the mileage from port A-7 and correct the mileage after you replace the gears. I chucked up a pencil into a battery drill to correct mine.

I did the same thing recently. My odometer broke in December and estimated that I went about 6k miles (I drive a lot) so I did what Ozark Lee did and used the pencil in a drill technique to roll it. Took about 20 minutes to roll 6k, I can't imagine how long 30k will take though
On a related topic, how do I pull the correct mileage from A7? I assume there is a sequence to use on the button?? Would like to know how far off I really am.

Flywire to port A-7. Press the button 5 times briefly but firmly. The LED should light solid.
Enter 1-1-1 with the button and the LED will respond with the first 3 digits of the stored mileage.
Repeat and enter code 1-1-2 and the LED will read out the last three digits of the stored mileage.
If any of the numbers is a zero it will read out as 10 rapid flashes.
