Default overheating help plz

Ok so I have an overheating 96 850 turbo

What Ive recently replaced
tstat
radiator
waterpump
timing belt
reservoir tank and lid(green)
flushed system including rad and heater core
checked plugs for green tinge and fouling
checked fan and relays.

I have no signs of HG failure except for the magical coolant leak and overheat.

I just called a mechanic and he said over the phone that it could possibly be an intake manifold leak?

Could he be right?

How does coolant get near the intake?

I am going to say headgasket is bad.
If everything is new and it still overheats then the HG is bad.
Try to have a block test done(Exhaust gasses in the coolant) and see if it passes.
Also another way to tell without that test is to start the car and run it for like 2 minutes. It will not come up to normal operating temp that fast. Then try to open the coolant bottle cap. If there is alot of pressure then the HG is bad.

Sad to say, this is what mine did before it overheaded and died. Coolant pressure was the key that I ignored.

Not a 100% on that but do that test and a compression test and that should tell you.
Alot of shops can do the block test.
