Default PCV System Repair?

I've been reading about smoke coming out of the oil dipstick tube being a sign of a pcv system needing service, but what about the oil cap? When the car is running, and I remove the oil cap, I see some "smoke" and oil spurting. Is this normal? I also see some oil seeping around the cap but that just may be the seal. Please advise!
Thanks!

If your not seeing any smoke out of the dipstick tube when running it is probably just your fill cap seal. Its only like 50 cents to replace, and i believe it should be replaced each oil change or 2.

If your poping you fill cap open while running your going to get oil coming out since your cams are moving in side of there... Probably not the best thing to do...

You could also try to put a balloon over your dipstick tube I hear. If it inflates it supposed to show that the system needs to be changed / cleaned

I have only owned our 850 for a little over a year but ....

I think a little smoke would be normal (not much) as that is one heck of a hot area with the engine running and all. It seems these (or at least mine) runs a little hotter than other cars we have owned and I have wondered if they weren't engineered for colder climates like Sweden where they're made. When you remove the oil fill cap, you change the conditions / pressure / etc in the valve train / cam area, so it may not really BE smoking when properly closed.

As far as the PCV stuff with the smoke puffing out the dipstick tube, I have been told by a very knowledgeable car guy that it is to be expected on these cars and nothing to worry about. I can honestly say mine puffs smoke just like it did before I redid the whole PCV system (including soaking out the engine with diesel poured into the ports that the PCV oil trap connects to) while doing a head gasket job. HTH and this is just my two cents' worth.

I see. Well I have no smoke coming out of the dipstick tube. I just have some smoke when I pop the oil cap with the car running. I noticed on other cars that there is no smoke when running and I pop the oil cap so that is my concern.....
