Default Post PCV Job Troubleshooting: 97 850 GLT

Replaced the PCV system. Now the tube that runs from the box to the top of the head (plugs in next to the spark plugs) keeps blowing off, even with the hose clamps on.

Without taking everything apart, it appears, or feels in some cases, like everything is plugged into the box correctly. I can follow the lines to the side of the manifold, and the long one around to the back of the engine compartment in both spots it plugs in and everything seems ok there from the limited view I have.

I imagine I'm going to have to tear it apart and see where I screwed up, but I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone has any thoughts or tests that might save me some time.

Thanks.

That is not uncommon because there is nothing for the hose clamp to hold onto because the lip is completely smooth. To fix that on mine I used silicon (of some sort cant remember exact type) or something like jb weld and stuck the hose on and let it dry. It has not come loose since. I would try that because most likely the hose will keep slipping off and cause oil to leak from that port in the head.

I assumed that there was too much pressure, if the hose would be blowing off there. You don't think that's the case? I could work something out to keep that thing on there, but I was afraid I'd just be treating symptoms.

Probably not if you cleaned out all the ports and have the right hoses where they are supposed to go. It is probably just slipping off which is what happens to most people.

I used a small hose clamp on mine only cause the hose in my kit seemed to have a loose fit. No probs with the clamp holding.

Do make sure the hoses are hooked on the box correctly. The hose to the top of the motor hooks to the port on the box, closest to the passenger side of the car. The other port on top of the box hooks to the hose that goes around the motor. Most parts diagrams are wrong.
