Rear load leveling
I suppose Phil you mean the automatic load leveling system. It seems like somebody just asked this a month ago, or maybe they asked about going the other way, due to the expense of maintaining the system.
Anyway, Phil, if you were thinking about that, you ought to google "Nivomat conversion". The conversion kits may all be for the rear drive Volvos, but you'll still learn something. If it's not what you meant, then I would say people replace springs all the time, and they are available. Spring replacement would be pretty easy. I guess you could google "volvo 850 spring replacement" and find some stuff.

This is on a wagon. I have to carry around a lot of tools and I worry about what it is doing to the car with that much weight. It looked like the rear tires were wearing out on the inner edges faster than the outer. IPD has rear over load springs. A while ago I had posted about looking for load leveler shocks but found out that they pretty much are not manufactured any more.
