I think the BMW handles better than the Volvo and I have new Bilstein shocks and struts and the IPD Sway bar. Seats are different, but hard to say which is more comfortable. I have the Sports Package on the BMW which means the bottoms slide out and that is really nice on loger trips. As far as fatique after a long trip, the 4Runner is the most comforatable. I think it's because you sit up a little more so your legs are more bent. I just like the Volvo the best though for every day driving back and forth to work.

I brought it this morning and just drove in 3 for the frist 2 or 3 miles and that worked fine. When I put it in D it shifted fine. I'm not going to spend big bucks as long as that is all I need to do.

I don't think i would do 3 drain and refills ever 20K. I think you would be wasting quite a bit of transmission fluid. Just doing one every 20K after doing the 3 and the fluid coming out looks almost the same as what is going in.

This is the 1st 850 or V/S70 that I have had any transmission problems with and I've had four of them. One had 240K, one 203K and the V70 had 160K. This one has just over 200K.

Are you talking about actually pulling the plug three times or using a hose on the transmission line to the cooler?

Pulling the plug 3 different times.

What I did was drain the fluid, snug the bolt in, and filled it back up. Drove a day or two and repeated the process. Drove another 50 to 100 miles and did it a final time. From my calculations I replaced 87.5% of the fluid. My notes are in the 850 sticky for Transmission Flush.

It has gotten worse lately. Goes much further before it will shift. When I put it in 3rd it shifts out of 1st and 2nd, but will not got to 4th when I put in D for maybe 10 miles now. Up until recently it was shifting normally after about 1 mile.

I haven't driven it much at all lately because of this. Hate driving a car that you are afraid is going to break down when you have two perfectly good cars sitting at home. I might give the pnp switch a try and cross my fingers.

Starting to like driving the BMW quite a bit since I've been driving it as my daily driver lately. The sound system is friggin awesome and it has a jack for my mp3 player.

But I really want to get my yellow Volvo back to running like it should. Bothers me to see it sitting outside while the other two get the garage. Started to drive it to work this morning, but it was raining like crazy and the passenger wiper blade shredded before I got out of the driveway. Turned around and put it in the garage and took the BMW. Will pick up new blades on the way home. Ones on the BMW weren't very good either so I stopped and put new ones on it on the way to work. $34 at the dealer for wiper blades, but everybody says they will last for years.

The big killer of wiper blades is ice. People who don't scrape their windshield (me) but just squirt washer fluid and try to wipe it away. It's like running them over a file, really tears up the edge of the blade.

I end up parking outside all the time (Minnesota) and I've found the spray on de-icer is the way to go. I use the Prestone trigger spray bottle.

But I still think there is a gallon in the bottom of that gas tank !

Trico blades for the Volvo ended up costing $32 and they were the mid-price blades. Some of the Bosch blades were $28 each. I won't buy RainX again. That is what shredded on me and they could not have been more than a year old. Probably more like six months. I do scrape my windshield before turning on the wipers too.

You guys just need to move someplace where it never snows and only rains sometimes.

Its almost December, the sun is out, 70 degrees and the leaves are just starting to fall off the trees.
