Default Side Marker Lights from S70

Finally a nice S70 in the yard. It has the side finder marker lights. Thinking about snagging them from my T-5R. Where does the wire for them connect. I seen that they fed into the fender but don't know where the other end goes. Also, are they plug and play.

Looks like someone was planing to come back for them because they were unplugged and setting on the cabin air box. I figure someone got distracted and forgot them.

Some cars are prewired from the factory. The plug is in the inner fender in the back side. Sometimes you can look through the door jam and see if it is there. It will be a plug pushed into a rubber grommet.

Oh, are you telling me how to check to see if my car is pre-wired?

Chances are, it's not. You splice them in with the turn signal wires, and then run the side marker harness through the fender.

HOW TO ON IPD'S WEBSITE

It's nice IPD has the wiring kit but I really wish them wouldn't include those blue splice blocks. Those are really cheap and easy to install but you pay for it in a couple years when moisture and in my area salt get into the connection and end up wicking up the wire in both directions corroding everything it touches and causing excessive resistance to current. They are OK inside a car but not anyplace there is any chance of moisture. The worst is people who use them when doing trailer wiring installations. It's a nightmare trying to cut out and splice in good wire a couple years later when the owner has no rear lights.
But the side marker/turn addition is a great addition. I wish there was a covert way to add cornering lights.

I seen a 850 pic that had the lights on the mirrors. It was looking to sweet.

My car is NOT pre-wired so that will go on the back burner for now. I guess I'll go snag a couple of wire connections tomorrow and just keep them around.

I only do them as turn signals. The ones hooked up as marker lights usually burn the socket and light from being on all the time.

Are these the pre-wired plugs?

Or are these for Fog lights?

They look like plugs for the headlight wash/wipe system.

And the lights in the mirrors are on ebay.

I agree they look like the headlight wiper plugs. If it is prewired for the fender lights the plug will be stuck into a grommet just behind the door check and door wiring harness.

I went and picked up those lights. I also pulled wires from door lights. I'll install them one day, maybe next month.

I wish someone made a double wire plug so I could just unplug the blinkers, plug in the splice plug, plug the wire for the signal in the back of the splice plug and be done with it.

When i installed my aftermarket headlights and corner lights I made my own pigtail that just plugged in between the marker and corner light that had wires coming off for the extra stuff.
My headlights have LED's in them and then the Halo's. Also tapped in there for the fender lights as well.

Yea, that's what I'd like to do. Stop splicing into wires. Maybe I'll go to the auto parts store to see what they have for me to do the same.

Look around next time you go to the junk yard. Cut the corner light plugs off then find a matching male plug. Then make the harness.

Ok, the yard I got the door wires from will let me cut those wires and not charge me.
