[:@]HTC ELLO AGAIN. I AM WORKING ON A 1994 850 TURBO THAT IS BLOWING ALOT OF SMOKE OUT OF THE OIL DIPSTICK. I REPLACE THE BREATHER BOX, HOSES,AND FRESH AIR HOSE.MAKE SURE ALL THE PASSAGES WERE CLEAN AND CHECK FOR VACUM AT THE FLAME TRAP. ALSO CLEAN THE EGR VALVE. NO LUCK STILL ALOT OF PUFF. AT THIS P BUT I DONT OINT IAM READY TO CONDEM THE TURBO BUT I DONT SEE ANY OIL RESIDUE ANY WHERE ANY SUGGESTION? I WILL REALLY APRECIATE. TANKS AGAINH

 

Next I would do a compression test.
Get the readings for the first time.
Then shoot a little oil in the cylinder and get another reading and then post the before and after the oil readings.

 

will do when the car comes back. somebody said is the turbo, but i think your suggestion is the most logical step. will keep you posted on the resulst thanks for responding

 

Keep us posted. I also replaced the whole PCV system and still had oil smoke from the dipstick. Compression on my car is 140-145 across the board. What the heck else could it be???

 

You will always have a little bit of smoke with it.

It might be a little bit of Blow by. 145 is a little low but still good.

 

Thanks tech. It does seem to use less oil since I changed the PCV.
