Volvo 850 Made from 1993 to 1997, this Volvo line was available in both a wagon and a sedan, both with were graced with several trim levels.

Speakers on the right are hardly working

The speakers on the passesnger side of my 95 850 are hardly working all of a sudden

Pull the volume **** out to enable Balance control. See if it just got moved over.

Speakers might be blown. Mine on both the passenger front and rear door have already gone out. The tweeter and rear deck are the only speakers that work now.

Had to start with the easy stuff first.

When you turn your volumn control...is it scratchy?

If you move the volume up and down fast do you hear the right side speakers equally scratching or is the volume low then too?

If you can distinctly tell the difference in the dash speakers then swap them. If the sound does not change then you do have an amp output problem. There are two types of systems.
Internal or external amp. Pretty simple to tell, an external amp is mounted between the radio and the heater core. Most 850s dont have an external amp.

Another option is to talk someone else with a volvo to swap radios with you for a test. Be sure you have the codes for both radios if you attempt this.

New thread: I helped a friend with a radio problem. We swapped radios to find out if his was bad but now neither radio will turn on ???

Sorry that happened but that is not the norm, more so a rare occasion.
