Default Stop leak I'm using it

How do I put radiator stop leak in my 1995 850 Turbo? The instruction says I need to put it in the radiator but there is no radiator cap.

This is a big mistake you are making. Why are you doing this? leak somewhere? Radiator, head gasket, hoses, what?

This stuff it like putting dirt in your cooling system. Sure, it might....might plug the problem temporarily but it goes everywhere in your system restricting flow in your radiator and heater core. Then, it settles to the bottom wherever it is. So you end up with sludge at the bottom of the radiator and every flat surface within your block. Think really hard before you make this commitment.

Using it and just don't know how again because my volvo doesn't have a radiator cap. Just need advice on how to run it through, I don't really care about everyones two cents on stop leak.

Nice, good luck. It does have a radiator cap, you just have to think outside the box.

If you must use a stop leak rather than an actual repair, don't use that crap you can get from the parts store. The best stop leak is at any GM dealership. It is called Delco Coolant sealant tablets. They stop leaks very well and they don't clog up radiators.

While there is no cap "on the radiator," there is a pressurized cap on the reservoir and you can add things there. If you must add something directly to the radiator, (WHILE SYSTEM IS COLD) remove the top radiator hose where it goes into the thermostat housing at the right side of the engine, add into there, then reinstall it. You may have to let some fluid drain out of the radiator to "make room" for whatever is added. The drain petcock is under the left side of the radiator (while sitting in car).

Default Ycartf you rock

Thank you ycartf. I couldn't find the cap and I saw someone in another forum asked about that as well. I know there is the reservoir but was concerned about adding the stop leak there. Thank you for your help. My dad owned a service station for years but worked on older vehicles and not Volvos, he recommended the stop leak. I understand the "dangers" of it but I know it can work as well for a onetime thing if my raidator goes it will go not because of the stop leak and that's when she'll be done. Again thank you for the tip that is very helpful.

Funny thing, in the Haynes manual they have a footnote to consider using a stop leak.
