Default Strut bearings, how likely is it that they are bad?

Help ASAP... I already have the strut mounts, but when I took the strut assemblies off of the car, the bearing plate seemed to be a little easy to wiggle.

My question is, would the new mounts tighten this up and I am just paranoid, or are the bearings likely bad? There was the clunking in the front end due to the mounts, but no noise/squeaking when turning the wheels left and right, so I wouldn't think they are a problem, I just dont want to get it all back together and be have it still be messed up.

I thought I had heard that they dont really go bad...

Thanks.

They usually don't go bad.
They will have a slight bit of play.

Thank you Tech! You always respond helpfully and quickly. Looks like I'll not worry about getting the bearings.

Thanks again.
