Suspension woes
well after hunting down a wierd knocking i came to find that my strut had gone bad and could be wiggled side to side replaced that with a spare i had and it was good had it aligned the next day and now its starting to go bad again what would cause 2 struts to fail like this.. both were new bilstiens the old lasted 1 1/2 years this new one even less.....
how about sub frame bushings? how often do these go bad? i know they are original and what cause and effect could they have? also whats the best way to replace them with out a lift
Thats not right. The only thing I can think of is a spring not seated right causing the shock to be constantly trying to bend because it does not have the correct load alignment. I am just making this up but it seems to make sense if it was alway wearing on one side.
heres the thing too the tires have worn evenly... spring seat is seated correctly into the strut mount.. ittl pull severely to the left once and awhile sometimes slightly and sometimes wont pull at all and steer straight.
Maybe take it back to the shop that aligned it and describe the problem? Maybe their techs could look at it and figure what's going on.
If something was that badly worn, they should have caught it when it was on the rack to start with.
