Default Testing gas sender electrical

Just a quick one guys, How do I test the gas sender electrical connection? I have lost my gas gauge. It moves once in a while, but now stays all the way up or down. I want to test the sender with out removing the pump. Can I test the electrical with a meter? And how do I go about doing this. I want to remove the sender as the problem before I rip the cluster apart.

Thanks in advance

This doc has instructions on page 6 on how you can test your fuel gauge and sending unit. The sending unit should show close to zero ohms when full, 300 ohms when empty (or exactly the opposite).

Good luck.
