Good luck!
215/45/17 is safe with slight rubbing.
After that 225/45/17 is where most people begin to encounter rubbing and it ends up being somewhat of a "crapshoot". Some peoplr have tons of problems, and others have very very minimal rubbing.

I run 215/45/17's on mine with no problem. Seems likeyou have much more selection when you go with 215's vs. 205's. I would not go with 225's based on what I have read here and on other msg boards. I have heard of people rubbing a hole on the inside fender lining.
You are going to throw your speedometer off if you go with a 40 profile. I personally would not even consider that, especially with the pot holes we have around here. I have trouble keeping my wheels from bending with the 45's.
okay thanks a lot guys! so i guess from what i've seen 215/45/17 are best choice, but 40 will mess my speedometer and i agree on the pot holes, its hard for me to get around them pot holes.
but one other question if i upgrade my rims to 18" whats best tire size for those?

I would play with a tire calculator and then try various combos. I would stay 215. I know some people go 225/40/18, but they either have massive rubbing, or minor rubbing.

When you go 18" wheel you are going with a very low profile tire and if you are worried about pot holes the lower the profile the worse. I think 18" pegs look fantastic though. I think you would go 215/40/18 with the 18" wheels. I would not do it though.
